📅 Day 1: The Heart of Angkor (Small Circuit) and Sunset

Breakfast at your hotel, departure at 8:30 am. Day one of your 3‑day Angkor tour covers the most iconic temples of the Small Circuit, closing with an unforgettable sunset.

Angkor Thom: Bayon, Baphuon and Phimeanakas

We enter through the South Gate of Angkor Thom, flanked by 54 gods and 54 demons. We visit the Bayon with its 216 smiling stone faces, Baphuon (a temple‑mountain symbolizing Mount Meru), and Phimeanakas, the royal palace tied to the naga legend, along with the Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Thommanon, Chau Say Tevoda and Ta Keo

We continue to Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda, two small twin temples, and Ta Keo, Angkor's imposing unfinished temple.

Ta Prohm and Angkor Wat

After a lunch break (not included), we visit Ta Prohm, the temple of giant roots known from "Tomb Raider," and explore Angkor Wat in depth, including its bas‑reliefs and, if open, the climb to the central tower.

Sunset from Phnom Bakheng

We close day one with one of Cambodia's most spectacular sunsets, with panoramic views of Angkor Wat from Phnom Bakheng. Spots are limited, so your driver will recommend arriving early.

Preah Khan, Neak Pean and Ta Som

We visit Preah Khan, a forest temple with endless galleries and a mystical atmosphere; Neak Pean, a circular island that once served as an ancient hospital of the Khmer empire; and Ta Som, a small gem with a giant tree wrapped around its entrance gate.

Banteay Srey: The Temple of the Woman

After passing East Mebon, with its stone elephants at the corners, we reach Banteay Srey, the famous "Temple of the Woman" carved from pink sandstone, with inscriptions so detailed they resemble lace. It's one of the most photographed stops on any 3‑day Angkor tour.

Banteay Samre, Pre Rup and Kravan

After lunch (not included, in a rural area), we visit Banteay Samre, a hidden gem surrounded by farmland; Pre Rup, a crematorium temple ideal for photography; and Kravan, notable for its brick architecture.

Phsar Leu Market or Kampong Phluk Floating Village

We visit the lively Phsar Leu Market, a burst of colors, scents, and everyday Cambodian life. As an alternative, you can opt for a boat ride through the floating village of Kampong Phluk, past houses on the water and a submerged forest.

Roluos: Bakong and Preah Ko

After lunch (not included), we visit the temples of Roluos, the first brick temples built by the Khmer empire, predating Angkor Wat: Bakong and Preah Ko.

Wat Bo Pagoda and Artisan d'Angkor

We close the 3‑day tour with Wat Bo Pagoda, an active Buddhist monastery that reflects local spiritual life, and Artisan d'Angkor, a workshop where ancestral arts like wood carving and silk weaving are passed down, with the chance to purchase fair‑trade souvenirs.
