Cambodia 9‑Day Tour: Tonle Sap Circuit, Koh Ker & Angkor

📅 Day 1: Arrival Transfer

📅 Day 2: Phnom Penh — Royal Palace, Museums & History
Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda
The residence of the King of Cambodia since 1866. Dress code: shoulders and knees covered.
National Museum of Phnom Penh
Over 2,000 years of Khmer art — sculptures, ceramics, and artifacts.
Tuol Sleng (S‑21 Prison) and Choeng Ek Killing Fields
In the afternoon, visit S‑21 Prison and the Killing Fields. Audio guide included with entry.
📅 Day 3: Phnom Penh → Siem Reap — Skun Market, Kampong Kdei & Kampong Khleang
Private transfer to Siem Reap with a stop at Skun Market (known for fried tarantulas and Kakor soup), the 12th‑century sandstone Kampong Kdei Bridge, and a boat ride through the floating village of Kampong Khleang on the Tonle Sap. Arrival in Siem Reap and hotel check‑in.
📅 Day 4: Angkor Small Circuit
Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom (Bayon, Baphuon, Elephant Terrace and Terrace of the Leper King), Ta Prohm (the "Tomb Raider" temple), Banteay Kdei, and Sras Srang.
📅 Day 5: Angkor Grand Circuit
Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, Banteay Srey (the Temple of the Women, a masterpiece of pink sandstone carving), Banteay Samre, Pre Rup, and Kravan.
📅 Day 6: Koh Ker & Beng Mealea — In the Heart of the Khmer Jungle
Today heads deep into the jungle to discover two gems far off the tourist trail.
The Ancient City of Koh Ker
90 km from Siem Reap, Koh Ker was the capital of the Khmer Empire for a brief period in the 10th century. It spans 80 km² with over 180 temples, many still half‑buried in the jungle. We'll visit a dozen of the most striking, including Prasat Neang Khmao, Prasat Pram, Prasat Domrei, Prasat Ling, and the central pyramid of Prasat Thom, rising 32 meters.

Free time for lunch at a local restaurant near Koh Ker (not included).
Beng Mealea — Swallowed by the Jungle
About an hour's drive away lies this mysterious temple, deliberately left unrestored so visitors can see it as 19th‑century French explorers found it. Giant roots and centuries‑old trees climb over collapsed stone blocks, creating a legendary atmosphere. Return to Siem Reap for the night.
📅 Day 7: Siem Reap → Battambang
Private transfer (approximately 3–4 hours) with cultural stops, including Wat Slaket Monastery and the Battambang National Museum. At sunset, witness millions of bats swarming out of the caves at Phnom Sampov.
📅 Day 8: Battambang → Phnom Penh — Bamboo Train, Udong & Kampong Luong
Experience the Bamboo Train through rice fields and rural villages. Transfer back to Phnom Penh with a boat ride through the floating village of Kampong Luong on the Tonle Sap, and a stop in Udong, the kingdom's ancient capital (1618–1866).
